Link DWG with MInsert Objects

Does anyone have experience linking AutoCAD dwgs with MInsert objects in them?

Our detailer likes to use MInsert blocks, especially for insulating walls and ceilings, but the MInsert objects get confused when they are placed in Revit.

We have encountered the same problem still in Revit 2010 - is there a workaround for this?
