I was wondering what you thought of the new mapping tools vs. the old setuv command. Personally, I think that there are some benefits to the new tools, but (so far) I think that setuv provided more accurate ways of mapping a material (eg: picking points for scale).

Comments?

I agree that setuv was more accurate. There is also a bug I'm looking for a fix to in the new materialmap command. If you use cylindrical mapping on a cylindrical object that is vertical in the WCS plan it works fine (scales appropriately, etc.), but if you try to map a horizontal cylinder, the mapping is still generated vertically, even if you change the UCS to match the object. The only workaround I've found is to draw all cylindrical objects vertically, them map them, then 3drotate the object (the mapping follows the object). It's extremely annoying.
