though sheet set manager I know how to select a view that has already been placed on a sheet and place a call out tag (section, elevation, ect..) for that view. But is it possible to place a callout tag on a drawing before the view for that call out exists, and later associate that block with a view in the sheet set manager.

Some times I like to place blank section tags and detail call outs on my plans to remind me what areas require sections and or plan details. I would like to be able to use the blank call outs in the drawind and associate them to the views in SSM later on. Currently I erase the blank call outs, and re-insert new ones through SSM.

Tecton Architectsmy thought is, 'how do you reference something that doesn't exist'?
to use your blank callouts, you'd have to re-link the fields. i'd say you're on the right track with starting over when the view becomes available.
