i am working on a campus plan, and all the buildings are turned in diferent angle in relation to the true north.
so i went in and truned true north of both bldg A and bldg B and kept project north at right angle.

i am trying to import bldg A to bldg B file.
bldg A comes in but not in the right location / angle.
i think this has something to do with the true north adjestment...
anybody, any suggestion?.

thanx

You should have 3 files, one for bldg a, one for bldg b and one with the site. draw building a and b as you want them on a sheet of paper, Have your site plan(model) set true north. Now link your bldg a and b into the site plan, rotate them, then share their coordinates. Now you should beable to link a into b or b into a and when you link them check the box for by shared coordinates.

thanks sbrown.
this is how we started the project.

bring (import 'origin to origin') site plan DWG into new revit project.
rotate the true north to match site plan (dwg) north.

set the view to project north (right angle) and start building bldg A

repeat all above for bldg B

when i export them out and combine in CAD, they are perfectly matching the site plan.

when i link bldg A to bldg B in revit, that's when it goes crazy....

should i have created the model different?.
i found on the forum about the true north thing and it has been working fine (even rendered in viz!)...
