When trying to insert railing onto a set of stairs in ADT I realized that I was unable to change any of the check boxes, such as "ballister" and "handrail" when inserting. These options are greyed out on all of my rail styles. I only have this problem at work though, and not at home and cannot come up with a solution as to why? Anyone have any ideas as how to get access to these options?

At work, are your railing styles kept on the network maybe where you dont possibly have access rights to change them?

Railings can not be modified in the properties dialog box. These 'design rules' come directly from the style.

Go to Format>Style Manager and select the style you are interested in (also here is where you can bring in styles from your content directory). Right-mouse click on the style and choose edit. Here is where the railing, posts, etc can be modified.

Hope this helps.

YOU CAN modify the railing in the properties box when adding a railing. In order for you to accomplish this, you first must change the railing style to "allow each railing to vary". Edit the railing style via the style manager, then check the box "allow each railing to vary" in both the rail locations and post locations tabs.
