When I do a rendering the lights and the 2x2 grid are not in alignment?
What causes this to happen?

the map for the grids and the model pattern for the grids aren't in alignment... pretty common problem from what I've seen...

Is there away to change the alignment of the map for the grids??

There are a couple of options to solve the problem:

1. You could create a new material with a tile procedure, define the pattern and give it the appropriate x,y offset to align the pattern with the lights. This requires a bit of trial and error and would require a new material for each ceiling where the x,y is different.

2. If the area is small such as a reception area, you could model the ceiling grid using a curtain system or simple extrusions for the T's, then render with a material that does not have the grid pattern built into it.

3. You could render without a grid pattern, then duplicate your view that you rendered, change it to hidden line mode and export it as a JPEG that is the same size as the rendered view. Then in Photoshop composite the two images together.
