Situation:
We use ISO-format paper A0; A1; A2; A3 and A4.
All margins set to 0mm.
All sizes assigned to the 36" roll used by the plotter.
Configuration:
AutoCAD 2004 (this problem exists since AutoCAD 2000)
HP750C 36" plotter
Non-System Driver - Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 750C C3196A
hpgl28.hdi version 1.1.8.0.16.86 (U5-1)

Problem:
The cutting border at the edge of the paper-layout will only plot one long and one short border.
While there are no warnings, the plot exceeds maximum.
(the plotter dialogue-box "partial preview" sometimes says: "plotting area exceeds maximum".
I cannot tell excactly when the messages is there and when it's not)

question:
Why are the opposite borders not plotted?
due to AutoCAD or caused by the plotterdriver?

I suppose that the problem is caused by converting milimeters to inches.
(AutoCAD basically calculates inches?)

our solution:
We now use custom paper sizes +/+ 1mm:
Iso A0 1189x841mm -> Custom paper A0 1190x842mm.
Iso A1 841x594mm -> Custom paper A1 842x595mm.
Iso A2 594x420mm -> Custom paper A2 595x421mm.
Iso A3 420x210mm -> Custom paper A3 421x211mm.
and the entire border appears on the plot!

Hi

Does this occur on all drawing frames or just certain ones?

In house company frames are ok!

Some outside project frames are ok! while others cause problems.

.....

Have a good one, Mike

If you are plotting using extents then I would think it's due to the plotter not being able to plot right to the edges of the paper, we plot exactly as explained in the first post but by using limits and every thing seems fine, have just gone from a 650C to a 1050C+ using all the same settings with no problems.

Hi

Check out the following Technical Document on the Autodesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -
