I just loaded ACAD 2000i on my notebook and the pointer makes continuous tracks across the drawing screen without pressing any buttons. I have tried several mouse settings and looked for other ACAD settings with no avail. Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?

Please note that I've moved this post from the Revit Building General forum as it appears to be AutoCAD 2000i related as opposed to Revit. If this is incorrect please let us know.
Thanks!

Possibly -
It's not an acad setting, it's a Windows mouse driver setting.
Go to Start, Control Panel, Mouse and pick the Pointer Options tab. Halfway down is "Visibility" - uncheck the "display pointer trails" box.
If it IS an acad probblem then, if your display hardware is not adequate, crosshair ghosts can be left when shademode is not 2dwireframe. This does no harm, it's just irritating.
