Detail Components have thick lines

Hello -

This is my first post to the forum although I have been reading threads here for a while. I am finishing Paul Aubin's Revit book and am going through the chapter on detailing and annotation. When I place any detail component it seems to be outlined in heavy lines. I tried to change this with the linework tool but it wont let me select the components. I opened the properties of one and there didnt seem to be any option to change the linetype/lineweight. I know I can go into the Visibilities/Graphics dialog and override the heavy lines for the view but then that changes all of the components. I really hope I dont have to edit/duplicate the individual families and have a 'thin lines' version for each component. Any ideas?

Lineweights are scale-dependant. In your detail, I see the scale is set to 1/2" = 1'-0". I would suggest that the level of detail you are trying to show would be better suited to 1" = 1'-0" or even finer. Changing the scale of the view will make the linework appear lighter.

Otherwise, you are going to need to change the Object Styles, or set graphic overrides for the view.

Yeah, I noticed that the scale should be different after I made the post. That helped a bit - its not as big of a problem as I thought it was. Thanks for the reply!
