A basic question: I'm trying to put an opening in a wall and seem to be having troubles controlling the size and position of the opening. The opening properties only control vertical dimensions. When locating it along a wall, the dimensions only locate the opening off of a nearby wall. I can set one end without problems. If I change the other, the other end changes. If I try to lock the dimension, I get constraint errors when moving the other.
There seems to be no way to quickly specify the lenght of the opening itself other than stretching it with grips. What am I doing wrong?

Can you post a sample?

I've noticed the same thing. It would be nice to be able to stretch the jamb grips incrementally. You can't define it accurately with dimensions and the properties don't allow you to set the width. I've stop using them and instead insert a predifined width opening.

Same here. The opening tool is something I seldom use and if I do, It's a pita! I don't know why the temp dimension doesn't come up to allow you to control the dimension of an object,....I thought this is one of the things that made Revit so flexible and easy....maybe this tool was made on a Friday!:)
