Not really.

I saved and I still lost a lot of info when using Workspaces. I crashed like, 4 times and had to re-install a non-corrupt CUI file and re-customize before I was able to proceed. FOUR TIMES!

This is why I do not use Workspaces.

Supposedly they're more stable in 2007 ....

I have AutoCAD 2007 (full) but I still don't trust workspaces. I can live without them so why take the risk?

Amen, brudder.

I can see their uses and, in fact, I consider them quite a cool addition to CAD. but they're not stable enough for my liking. But don't say that too loud. Some people in here (*gasp*) LIKE Workspaces and will fervently argue in their defense.

In my experience, that sort of thing is to be expected when you try to fight the way Autocad works. If you weren't trying to work around what is now basic Autocad functionality, you wouldn't have had that problem.

I admit, the CUI still has a lot of major problems, mostly with regard to Enterprise and Partial CUIs (which are still mishandled by Autocad and are a mess), but I've found the new way to work much better than the old way. It's just different, and takes a different mindset. The old way of customization was sheer chaos. Anybody remember that 3-part article published by AUGI on how to transfer ALL customizations from one machine to another in pre-2006 Autocad? Ugh! What a mess.
