i am trying to put together blocks for our drawings (hooray for finally getting some standardization :Puffy:) and have got most of them together, but im having some trouble with an interior elevation tag. yes, i know there are some OOTB, but i havent convinced my boss to make the switch over to those yet. the block needs to be able to be configurable for 1 to 4 elevations, i think it could be done with visibility states, but that would be cumbersome to have all the permutations of the 4 sides. is there a more elegant solution to this that i dont know about?
edit - attached the drawing.

Sigh.
Chris - Until you finish your ATP thing, I'm gonna feel like I'm stepping on toes by giving the answer.
Chad - Check the Sharing thread. Both Chris and I have posted blocks like this. And once you take a look and dissect how it was done, you'll find it isn't so hard.

does the order attributes and paramaters are created affect how things work? i found one of the ones you guys posted, and have gotten about half the results i want from it, so im still plugging away. im also getting some odd results with hatching and vis. states, any ideas?

Start from the most basic action - STRETCH. Then include other actions (Rotate, Scale etc) and work up. A complex DB can be broken down if you go from basic action to most complex.
If you start from the most complex spot, your head will turn.
As for your hatching problems, I've found that text can make good hatches go bad. Change the layer and turn them off or move them away with a basepoint first. Then hatch and one that's done, return the text to where it's supposed to go. Make sure that your hatching is associative and you're golden.
