I have an angled wall that has column line "C" parallel to it, and when I go into an elevation view perpendicular to the "square" walls, column line "C" does not appear.

That's the way it's supposed to work... if you need it you'll have to draw it in with lines.

Hmmm. Ignoring columns on non-perpendicular column lines is certainly not a convention I have ever used before in my career. Thanks, though.

Problem is: B to C on one side is not the same as B to C on the other side. That could get confusing. Contractor: "Says right here that is supposed to be 20'-0"" Architect: "Thats the wrong side of the building. C is only 15'-0' from B on this side!"
That condition should really be two separate orthangonal grids, C1 for one column, and C2 for the other, so they can be dimensioned properly.
