I use imperial units, and in plan I use the typical feet fraction format, but in elevation and section, I want to have decimal feet.

Is it possible to change how the units display in different views? Thanks

You can creat a new dimension style, then in the new dimension style properties change the "units format" to decimal by unchecking the "use project settings" box. Then use this new dimension style in your sections or go back and select the current dimensions and change them to the new type.

I am able to make that work for dimensions, but how do I apply that to the number on the level symbol? The number in the level symbol seems to be different from dimensions

Same basic idea. Create a new level family that will display units independent of project settings.

You might find spot elevations more useful than creating additional level types since they show up in all views. If you use them to identify an elevation you can turn off or hide the levels you don't want to see. Just a thought.
