Working on a "campus style" project (multiple buildings on a site) that are all phased. I start with a topo surface set to existing and create existing pads for the existing buildings. I create new pads for new work but when I got back to the existing plans the topo is still cut by the existing pads... hmmm... not quite what I was expecting.

I know that the site tools in Revit leave a lot to be desired and that I'll need a workaround or two but I can't seem to figure this one out. The best I've been able to come up with is to have multiple copies of the topo on different worksets... and that's no fun at all (not to mention I think the pads know about those on the other worksets and start acting up when I need to work on them).

Any help out there?

We have had this problem pop up... sometimes. It wasn't consistent but I think we pegged the bug down to worksets... the topo and pads need to be drawn on the same workset. Normally we have a different workset for topo and pads so that we can always turn pads off and sometimes turn topo off... but there seams to be a bug related to pads and phasing. When we drew the pads on the same workset as the topo AND had all the topo surfaces in the project turned on, the phased pads worked correctly.

So I've finally found some time to get back to this and it's still not working the way I would have assumed (or wished) it might. Pads don't seem to be phase aware...

I've attached a simple example that should help someone understand what I'm trying to do. The topo was created in the existing phase and the pad was created in the new phase. The problem is that the hole in the topo for the slab shows up in the existing phase...

I'm just going to move this back up to the top of the queue... I really hope someone can take a look at this and let me know if I'm on the right track or if I'm just plain boinked. Thanks.
