View Full Version : Can I match the elevation of one object to another?

I am looking for a way to match the elevation (Z coordinate) of one object to another. I have a bunch of blocks and need to move them up to various elevations determined by a grid layout. Is there anyway that I can pick something that is already at the elevation I need, then pick the object that I want to move and be done with it?

Thanks

Tim

You could just highlight all the one you want to change and use the property palette to change their elevations all at once.

also - a polyline started with the PLINE command will have all its vertices at the same elevation as the first point picked so snap to an object (corner) that has the correct elevation and draw a pline with x,y values as you need.

"You could just highlight all the one you want to change and use the property palette to change their elevations all at once."

If I use this technique, I have to querry the destination elevation in some fashion then highlight all of the objects I want to move. This doesn't sound like much but if you have to do it 400-500 times it gets a little tedious.

"also - a polyline started with the PLINE command will have all its vertices at the same elevation as the first point picked so snap to an object (corner) that has the correct elevation and draw a pline with x,y values as you need."

This is how I draw new items, but I have hundeds of existing block that need to be moved.

So, you have various blocks at a variety of elevations and need to change them to various other elevations and the distances involved are also variable. Is that correct?
Sounds rough. :-(
