is there any way to link a field to match the user input value of an attrubute? I want a field in one block to atumaticlly get filled in with the value of an attribute block that has already been defined.

Are the two attributes in the same block? You can set the FIELD to represent the value of the attribute.

If the attributes are in the same block it shouldn't be a problem. The second field has to reference the original field, like a loop. I've done something similar for a Dynamic Block ...

Could you please be kind enough to explain little further in detail.
You are not talking about using Visibility funtions right?
Then how do you make the fields reference each other in attributes?

Young.veeeery caaaaarefully. i'm not joking, either. that is one of the trickier tricks with attributes and fields. Rico explained it very well somewhere in the DB forum, but for the life of me, i can't find it... maybe Rico has it in his favorites? ;)

(*you better watch out, Rich. I'm getting the hand of this linking thing and am vying for your link crown ;)*)
