We have a Twig type railing that I wanted to create. To simulate this instead of creating an extrusion for the Baluster family I created a sweep which slightly arched in and out. This worked well for the railings attached to stairs, but there is an error when I use the family for horiz. guardrails.
The problem is with the Top Angle parameter in the family. It seems that you can ONLY use extrusions for balusters. To prove this I created an extrusion, then set the Top Angle to 0 degrees - No problem. Then I created a sweep - just floating, not attached to anything - as soon as you add a sweep the Top Angle parameter gets an error. Is there a work around for this? It seems weird that there would be a problem even when the geometry is not referencing the parameter.
Thanks.
Jon
