I have a problem. I had a linked model that was my garage for a residential project and the other day something happened, so I decided to delete the linked model. Now the problem is I can not link it a second time.I think it has something to do with the file type. When I go to enter a linked file, nothing shows in the folder that I can link. What type of file do I need it to be? I have made files called garage and garage.rvt and like I said, nothing shows on what I can link. Please give me some solution. Thanks for your time

Was the liked file to a dwg or a rvt? If it is a rvt & its saved in another folder, have you tried File>Insert from file>Views?

It is an rvt. I can open it up by itself, but it does not show when I try and link it. Like I said, I think I need to change the extension.

To link a Revit model click File menu > Import/Link > Revit (file extension .RVT)
To link a CAD file click File menu > Import/Link > CAD Formats (file extension .DWG .DXF. DGN .SAT)

Also might want to check to see if (somehow) the visibility of the linked RVT file was turned off in your view ?!?!
It should be linking fine, following Steve_Staffords outline of linking.

When I try and load the file (link), it does not show up in the folder. I can open by itself. I will try and rename it and see what happens.
