Can this be made into a section cut mark?

Sure, the head is one family, the tail is another. Take a look at the stock content, look for Section Head... Section Tail... See how they are built.
Oh...and where is that "can do" spirit? Why so doubtful?

Try this out and see if its what you want.
You need to load it in, go to SETTINGS > VIEW TAGS > SECTION TAGS and change the section head to this family. It shows up in the broject browser under FAMILY > ANNOTATIONS and you can right click it there to edit.

that one works pretty well (i have also been down this road.) the problem i've yet to get around is when this is done as a vertical section. i cannot seem to get the text to rotate vertically. if i make a separate custom 'vertical triangular' head, the text is unpredictable and goes all over the place.

OK - so what if it does not show up in the Section Properties under the Section Tag drop down? I can't pick it from a list when I doesn't show up.
Is it because I do not have the Flipper control? Where do I find that to add it?

IF I'M UNDERSTANDING YOUR Q, you'll need to create a new type based on the loaded section tag head. after you import the section head to your project, go to Settings>View Tags>Section Tags. choose to Duplicate (and rename) the one that shows up as a section head. on the graphics pull-down, you should see the head you loaded as an option.
now you can go back to the location you placed your section. select the section mark, go to properties, and edit/new. you should now have your new option available when you pull down the Section Tag option.
see below. sorry they are small. let me know if it's a problem. i didn't want to post files too large.

Well - that is SO true I just found.

Yep, I've wanted to make sections like that for some time. I was eventually able to get horizontal and vertical ones to work, but they blew up when a section needed to be created at some other angle. the text would go haywire.
