Custom Room Tag

We want our room tag to be able to read an area column in our shcedule that has been put in manually. We have entered our manual areas but cannot get them to show up in our tag.

We have created a shared parameter to do this but we have not found the right path/link from the shared parameter.

You've got the shared parameter, which will need to be added as a project parameter associated with rooms. You should (haven't actually done this) be able to add the shared parameter to your tag family as a new label. Once the tag is loaded in the project, the areas should show up, when you enter an area for each room either via the room properties or your room schedule.

I'm not going to swear by this as I haven't actually had to do it yet. I'm pretty sure our DC office has, but I wasn't able to get full confirmation.
