View Full Version : UK Student version
I have been advised by my dealer that the only UK student version of Revit is a 10 user licence for the college.
I assume this cannot be used by students at home.
Surely there is a need to make Revit available to students, like the other Autodesk software.
Can anyone advise me differently.

Unless it is setup quite differently to the commerical product you should be able to check out a license to use at home or anywhere else you fancy.

REPOST from autodesk.revit newsgroup
Depending on your university and situation you could ask for borrowing a
license from their network. This is quite a simple procedure which allows to
attach a client computer to the network [your laptop, or even bring your
pc]. Install the netsetup for Revit from the network and temporarily take a
license from the network with you.
You should realise that once a license is borrowed it will -not- be
available in the network any more! So the university would be left with 9
licenses if they have 10 at present. The maximum borrowing period is about 3
months I believe [you can adjust this to any number of days shorter than
this period] after the borrowing period expires the license is automatically
returned to the network [no reconnection needed, the borrowed license simply
expires and the network license is automatically reactivated]
I presume a university is not going to be extremely happy to temporarily
miss one or more licenses, but if you're doing a relevant [graduation]
project you might stand a chance in proposing the borrowing option.
good luck..
