What are the repercussions of altering the calculation of the room height? Can someone shed some light on what this actually does? <Rooms1.png>

We have a project that has a ton of different levels due to additions over the years. Now, when adding rooms, a member of our team has had the best luck adding rooms by altering this value to 8' and not letting Revit calculate it automatically.

Now we can't add rooms on a certain level. I get the attached message when I start the room tool <Rooms2.png>.

If I hit yes and continue, I get the "Room not enclosed..." message <rooms3.png> and if I hit "Show Bounding Elements", basically everything is highlighted. <Rooms4.png>

Any suggestions?

That just specifies where revit looks for bounding elements, so if its set at 8' it will look at 8' above the level you are on for anywalls so if you had low walls it wouldn't find them. I usually set mine lower rather than higher.

Thanks for the insight.
