How do you export a file where you don't see the breakline as a solid fill.
We currently are going sheet by sheet and exploding them then deleting them, (How you say, Time Consuming).

Is there a better way?

Any family which has a solid filled region used for a 'Mask' should be set to 'No Pattern'. Don't use anything and it should import to CAD without that solid fill, but if you are using solid white as your mask in your families, then you will continue to see this as solid in AutoCad.

As Joshua mentioned, there is an option in Revit 9.1 that has a filled region as "no pattern"...you will have to modify the break symbol to have that type of filled pattern instead of the solid white.

All solid white will be black in autocad...because why? (my perfect english) in autocad most users have black as white and white as black..... so White solid fill will be a black solid fill in autocad...just like a black line drawn in autocad is usually white...

HOpe it's clear

Revit 9.1 they set the pattern to No Pattern but if you are using an older version of Revit you can find the family to edit it in the

Imperial Library\Detail Components\Break Line.rfa

and in Revit 2008, there is a new tool....the Masking Region tool, created just for this. It will mask geometry in projects, and in families (can be used in 2D ad 3D families) and will export correctly to DWG and DWF.
