were are the journal files located? i can not find the files. i lost a few hours of work.

That sucks Andrew. Journals are generally on your C drive, for example:

C:Program FilesAutodesk Revit Building 9Journals

Be very very careful with journal files. There are a number of good cautionary tales about journals/backing up on the forums, one of my favorites:

Also, be aware of the way backups work: you may be able to salvage some of you work, but you need to be aware of how that functions BEFORE you open the file again. The post at the bottom of that thread from IRWIN is key.
