Controling fill pattern angle

I am having trouble changing the scale and angle of the fill pattern in the attached framily.
I want to reduce the spacing between the hatches and make the hatch orientation remain fixed to the rotation angle of the inserted element - not the floor plan on which it is inserted. How can I do this?

You can control this by editing the properties of the fill pattern.
Go to: Settings -> Fill Patterns
Select your pattern and choose Edit.
From there you'll be able to change the alignment of the pattern with respect to the object or the view (screen shot attached).
