Topo & Pad problem

I put a surface and pad in. The earth hatching shows up in only 2 elevations. In one elevation the earth hatching does not extend to the edge of the building. What am I doing wrong?

The reference line for the elevation must intersect the topo surface. Right click on the elevation marker to display the line - or right click in the elevation view and select "find referring views".
