View Full Version : Dimension input?

How do I change my settings so that where ever I input a length of ft & in, is just in inches? For example, when offsetting I would like to enter 137 inches, without the " sign. Or for reentering the length of a wall I would like to do the same thing...

Is there a way to change the settings this way?

Any help is greatly appreciated, I have not searched very long on the topic, but will continue to do so.

Units can be globally set under setting (on the File bar). But, that will affect every dimension and measurement. If you want something different in the future, you'll have to re-set.

Try it...

So what do you do for your elevations? Do you use 100.12 or 100'3" ????

Shaun,

Are you referring to point elevations? Or inputing points for a topo surface? Or...?

Remember that when working in imperial you don't need to type in the ' & " (foot and inch). You can enter values in the format # (space) ##. So your 137 inches would be 0-space-137.

To save even more hassle try working in metric ;)

Dimitri,

I might add that the same method works for angular entry in DMS (degrees, minutes, seconds). Just separate each value with a press of the space bar .
