Our office have the following Autodesk Products, AutoCADD2002 (7 lic), LT2002 (5 lic), LT2004 (2 lic), ADT2004 (5 lic)... And of these software, 1, an ADT2004 is constantly having a problem with loosing it's Authorization Code. This particular PC already has 5 Authorization Codes entered. And this one PC that has AutoCADD 2002 also had it's Authorization Code requested a 2nd time. My question is, can you suggest any steps we can do on our side to orevent this or maybe if you know the cause of this problem. For the record, these 2 PC's that have these Authorization code problems are using a Matrox Parhelia 128MB Graphics card. Do you think hardware configurations can cause this problem? tnx.

I just saw some documents yesterday that indicate
that various AD-ware applications will cause these sysmptoms.
And of course I didn't save the links.
However take a peek at these two:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2885505&linkID=2475323
I also wonder if the install oder of the various products was done to AutoCAD's liking?

Has anyone had similar problems using autocad 2005 based sfotware? I tried to reinstall ADT 2005 on my home pc after I had to format it. and the first 2 times I tried to authorize i got an error message, The third time it told me that all the authorizations for the product had been used up. We have 12 Seats for ADT and this was only the fourth time I've installed it. It was pretty annoying because it wouldnt even let me run the product for 30 days and i had to email Autodesk customer service to get authorization and of course i never got a reply back.

Hi Patrick
Am just curious why you require people to E-mail you directly for assistance, instead of kindly offering your help/support within the Forums.... Please feel free to tell me to keep my nose out and mind my own business.
Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your advice. Actually i'm quite familiar with this kind of problem after i learned from customers site. After i did a research on this problem, i found out tat different situations require different solutions. So i wanna get a print screen (picture) of the Error dialog box via email from them first before i can directly identify the problem and provide technical support. How do you imagine i have my busy daily work everyday and i feel very free to wait for their response? That's why i require people to email me if they really wanna solve this problem.
Thanks & regards,
Patrick

We do request that answers be provided in the forums. That way, the whole community benefits from the answers provided. It is possible to have the screen print uploaded to the forums for everyone to view.
I understand that we are all very busy and cannot simply wait around the forums for questions and answers, however, in order for the forums to work effectively, we have to keep questions and answers here for the general population to read.
If you want to know when a thread is replied to, you can subscribe to the thread, you will then get an email when there is any activity in the thread. If you look above the thread, you will see a drop down box for thread tools. Here you can subscribe to the thread, so you will know when someone has answered.
Thank you for your understanding, and please feel free to ask if you have any question.

Hi Patrick
Screen captions (image) + other file formats can be posted directly within the Forums -
What Are Attachments? (http://forums.augi.com/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_vb_attachment_explain)
For the AUGI Forums to function properly it's best that ALL information relating to a thread is kept within the Forums, such an approach benefits ALL members as they can then access this information if/when required.
I totally appreciate that you (+ everyone here) have a busy working day and are being extremely kind in giving your time and knowledge to help others (that goes without question) but as I said above , for the AUGI Forums to really work ALL information is best kept within the Forums so ALL members can access it.
Thanks, Mike

Hi CadGirl & Mike,
Seem like everyone quite disagree with my way to provide help for this kind of problem.
Here, i'm quite new to this AUGI and i haven't fully develop its function. Anyway thanks for your information & advice. Nice to meet you all.
So why don't we wait for bmkannan reply on the situation i may know? Then i can directly identify the problem and fix it:
1) What's operating system (O/S) his affected computer using now?
2) Did he apply service pack (1-4) for his windows?
3) Before install AutoCAD 2002, any kind of softwares he installed before (Norton Antivirus
or ...)?
Thanks & regards,
Patrick
