Dim Text Change

Is there a way to make individual dimensions show inches instead of feet?
There are times it would be nice to have 48" show rather than 4'-0" for example. Mainly if it is in a tight spot.

You can't "substitute" text like in acad, but, if you pull the 4'-0" dim text away from the dim line, it will automatically create a little arc to connect the text to the line. Hope that's helpful.

You can duplicate your dimension type (& I would rename it) and subsequently alter your format of units. So you have Linear Dimension Style: Diagonal & Linear Dimension Style: Diagonal Reduced.
