Is there a way to lock a 3D view down so that you cannot spin it?
If you have a 3D view with some annotation you would not want to accidentally spin it. You know, when the boss wants to have a look at it and loves to spin it?

You could name the view so it would give fair warning that it shouldn't be tampered with (see attachment).
Since it's impossible to trust anyone to obey rules, you can duplicate with detailing once you have all the annotation placed and then you'll then have the ability to use orient to other view to snap the view back to the appropriate rotation.
Another option is to create a project parameter and use the browser organization to hide those views from prying eyes.

How about using View>Orient>Save View. This "records" the position of the view. To reset to the saved version, hit F8 to get the Dynamic View toolbar. Notice at the bottom the Save and Reset icons. (See attached image) The Reset reverts to the last saved version of the view. If no version is saved, it reverts to the position of the view when created.
So save your views, and if your boss spins a view, you can reset it!
The other option of creating separate views for "Working" views and "sheet" views is a good one, too. When the boss comes over, open the Working view, and manipulate at will without fear of messing up something on a sheet.
