Ok I've got a job with 5 sep. building models linked together, they all have various levels and the level annotations are just awful to deal with. has anyone come up with a way of easily working with these or do you turn off all the linked levels, or copy monitor them and turn them off? This seems like the best solution however I have to figure out a quicker way to turn them off in the linked models. Because going from view to view and modifying each link in every view is way too much.

Use View Templates to help out with this... what I do, instead of actually saving a Template, is to setup one view the way I want it and to select the Existing View from the Apply View Template dialog... now I haven't checked this with Linked Files but I think it'll work (though it won't with Workset visibility for some reason).

Definitley view templates. The unfortunate thing (as far as I am aware) is that if you add more buildings, you will need to continually update the view template to allow for the new linked models. (In other words i am not sure of a way to have them automatically switched off as they are linked?)

Another way may be to use worksets within the linked buildings and not bring in the annotation? I can't remember if thats an option or not?

Max.

If the Levels and Grids are on their own worksets you should be able choose NOT to load them when you are selecting the file to import. But then to see them you'd have to re-import the projects. To see them again or not, do this using Reload From in File menu > Manage Links, easier this way...then you can do it again to remove them.
