I would like to see the ability to set roof deck to be transparent in plan.

The project that I'm currently working on has a roof that is partially a space frame structure. In reality, the roof deck is approximately 8 inches above the space frame and supported by purlins. If I place the deck where it shoud be, the space frame is no longer visible in plan so I need to place the deck directly on the space frame for it to show up or turn the floor (roof deck) visibility off in that plan. To me that's not an option.

Maybe there's a way to accomplish this that I'm not seeing?

Look at how the stock beams display. You can do the same thing if your space frame is constructed in the same manner. You'll have symbolic linework as part of the spaceframe members which will project linework from below. You get the choice of what type of line will be used. (...hidden, solid, halftone, etc.)

Aaron,

Could you elaborate a little further? I've tried picking apart the wide flange framing family and can't seem to find the symbolic linework.

If I could find it I think I could duplicate it.

Thanks!
