I've got a bit of a problem here and I think this is beyond the scope of any BIM program, but I'll give it a whirl anyway - is there anyway to model a roof with tapered insulation? I tried using the slope arrows but that slopes the entire roof - top and bottom. I need a way to slope the top of the roof while keeping the bottom of it flat. Any ideas?

Model the roof in-place

I actually kept digging through the forums and found this answer:

It seems to be the easiest (cleanest) way to do something like this.

Thank you for your time.

you can't... not without making it a family (which you probably don't want to do)

many will tell you not to bother but if you gotta do it, you gotta do it... so what I do is model the main roof slope with the primary insulation (something like 6") and then add a second roof with the minimum tapered thickness (maybe 2") and then slope that as needed. in section there will be a triangular gap but that is easily filled in with a filled region.
