I want one wall to be full glass floor to ceiling and then I want a glass double door
I don't understand the difference between a curtain wall and a storefront
I have tried both curtain walls and storefront walls
When I go to place a door I hit Load
Imperial Library\Doors\Curtain Wall Dbl Glass.rfa or Curtain Wall-Store Front-Dbl.rfa
After loading the door family pulldown does not show those doors.
whats up?

Did you try to place the doors into the model?

Hi David -

you need to load doors that are specifically designed to replace the panels in a Curtain wall. Look under "Curtain Wall Panels" in the OTB library.

I would then suggest you look up the help file on Curtain walls; it's simply a matter of choosing which panel(s) you want to replace with the "door" panel you've just loaded.

Don't forget that you can also just define a wall material for a standard wall as glass and put a standard door into it. The curtain wall tool is amazing, but sometimes a 1/2" thick wall with a few model lines does the trick.

BTW, there's really nothing different between a storefront and a curtain wall except the name, either one could be modified to become the other.

this is a related question on the same topic. I tried making a 1/2" thick wall that was just a pane of glass as part of a curtain wall so I could insert a door into it, but the "wall" glass panel still cut like a wall with very thick lines instead of the thin ones I usually get with the curtain panel glass. I fixed this with the linework tool, but is there a way to make certain wall types cut differently so they'll match the rest of the curtain wall panels?

That's an easy job for filters.
