Ever since I installed REvit 9.1 I have been having some minor problems on start up. When I try to double click on one of my project files, Revit will begin to open, then I hear that lovely beep that lets you know that your computer doesn't like you, but with no error. The file does not open but Revit does with a grey screen....no open or new file template or anything. So I have to use the open command from Revit to get my file open. Wierd.

Next is that every now and again when I go to save my project file, the registration screen will come up and I will have to push register, then it things for a minute then allows me to move on. Not a huge deal, but I'm on subscription and have already registered....why would this keep popping up.

Josh

Edit.....there was an error..here it is. I dont' know why it couldnt' find the file....no worksets and have never changed locations, not to mention it's local.

Check Help > Product and License Information. At the top should be something like this:

Autodesk Revit Building 9.1 - *build number*

Your license is non-expiring.

License type: Standalone - Locked
License usage type: Commercial
License behavior: Permanent

Does yours look like that?

Yeah, mine says the same thing. When this reg. screen pops up during save, it states I am on a demo version, I click register, then it updates the info to read as mentioned. So it's just not storing it permanantly.

I had a similar problem, the registration one, with some other programs. It turned out that Windows XP's recovery tool was on the wack (I can't give details, we had a tech come fix it), and the program somehow was reading a stored backup profile instead of the latest? Don't know if this helps but it might be the source of both problems.
