I'm going through my project and cutting sections, then start adding detail lines and annotations to my sections. I then realize that I cannot use %% anymore to add symbols such as plate (PL) or Centerline (CL) to the detail. I do know that I can add some symbols to the detail through the symbols tool under drafting design bar. It's kind of a pain to add a symbol in front of some text then have to move the text and symbol together. Does anybody have any better suggestions to go about this?

Hi,
This can be tough to adjust to.
1. You can use the character map (charmap) from the windows32 folder to get some of the symbols such as: Ø and ±.
2. Other than that try to swtich to text, such as "L" for L4X4X3/8.
3. Spell out plate and centerline where need be. Also you can make an annotation symbol for plate and centerline, then add a label next to it so you can add in text next to it. Make one right justified and one left justified.
That's some of the stuff I have been doing.

This is what I've found through the character map:
Alt + 0216 = Ø
Alt + 0177 = ±
Alt + 0176 = °
You need to use the number pad area of the key board for these to work.
Like Tom, we just spell out the other stuff.

I kinda figured typing out the words as opposed to abbreviation was going to be the thing to do since Revit uses strictly True Type fonts (which I'm fine with). I was just trying to tap some ideas from the AUGI gang. Thanks for the input Terry and Tom.

I've also just added to the existing OOTB cL (centreline) symbol so that i can add text after it. This might be of some use to you.......
