Say you have a metal pan stair that you're designing and detailing for all your projects and want to set it up to suit all the various tread & riser conditions. Where when you model the stair, cut sections and add detail components (stair pans, carrier angles, conn. clips, etc.), they can be locked to the model in two directions to adjust if updated.

Like say you create a standard one with 11" treads & 7" risers and when you change it to say 9 1/2" treads & 7 3/4" risers, all the sections and details update automatically. Do any of you have this setup like this? Can this be done and if so how would you go about doing it? Thanks in advance.

it might take some experiements but could you define some length parameters in the detail componant that are instances? you could then align lock to the model componants so that when they changes the detail componant would change too? not that it would show the detail that you want, but filled regions can be locked to the model, so i would think the same concept could carry to detail componants.
