Hello all:

Is it possible to assign a particular phase to a linked dwg/dxf ?

eg., I modelled a complex kiva style outdoor fireplace and imported it into a remodel project, into the new construction phase of my model. The linked file shows in all phase views. When I explode, it flattens to 2D. Also, there seems to be no option to set it's phase in it's right click, properties dialog. I created it in sketch-up.

THANKS,

BillyG

Import it into a family file and save as a family. As a family it will have creation and demolition phases in a project. It will also be schedulable. Since it is an import, it will not be geometrically variable, but it can have added non-geometric parameters.

Better way to do this is to put that fireplace into a family first. Just open a generic model family template, and import your DWG model into that. Then it will be 'containted' and should allow you to phase it.
