Ok, I created a coversheet in a titleblock family with everything on it including all text. I thought that after I had it all in place, I can leave the parameters and static text in the family and cut to clipboard and paste the editable text onto the sheet. It won't let me do that. It says "Can't paste because there is no corresponding Work Plane. Set workplane or switch to view with appropriate workplane." I can't set a workplane because it's a sheet. Does anyone know a workaround so I don't have to redo it all?

Just to verify, the static text is everything on the sheet you want to be on that sheet always and the editable text is what you want to be able to change in the project, right? This is the differences between red and blue text if I understand you correctly.

The editable text is modified in the project, not the family, so that it can be different for every instance of the sheet, or easily editable when the information changes. I'm not clear on why you're copy/pasting any information as you could be modifying "editable" text in the project.

Because the editable text was created in the family and I was going to cut that out of the family and drop it in the project. Oh well, I just had to erase all the editable text in the family and then bring it into the template and make a sheet and redo all the editable text there.

It would be nice if sheets had one default work plane. It wouldn't allow you to switch the work plane in the view, but there would be a work plane then so you could copy info from other places to it.

As far as the editable text goes, you should be able to click in your text box, copy the text itself, then create a text box in your project, then paste the text. As far as text goes, there's nothing to special about it, just text. So you should be able to....but I don't have Revit open, so I'll go check.

Yep, that works. A little cumbersome to have to do it this way, but at least you don't have to type it over again.
