Is there any switch and code to change the visibility state of a BD upon insertion? I have one BD for my callouts that contains about 12 visibility states for the various call outs (section, elevation, detail bubbles, ect..) I want to add that block to several tool pallettes, but have that block insert with a different visibility state for each instance.

I just found the option to do this in the tool pallet properties..
But is there anyway to do this when inserting a BD from a custom tool bar?

(btw, id your 'BD' supposed to = 'DB'??) ;)

I was unsure to post my answer at first because I didn't know for sure, but I haven't found any way to do what you've asked via the toolbars .....i've gotten away from making custom toolbars myself anyway.... way more options available and tons easier to create for the most part.
it is hard making the switch from something we're used to to something that works better and faster no mater what it is, just because we don't understand how it works all that well....
i still wimper in pain when i recall the fuss i made going from my (then) wonderful cordless digitizer to a stinking 3 button mouse 10 or so years ago.... it's rather embarassing......

I have 2 custom toolbars with all the commands i'll ever need in button form on my screen. Everything else is a keystroke or a written command for me. I have TONS of space on my screen for drawing and doing things this way keeps me in touch with all my AutoCAD commands and variables. (I tend to be a bit forgetful sometimes)
But hey, to each his reach and what's mine I have.
It is a shame that there's no "easy" button like on TV ....

Hi
Take a look at the following threads ( and any links found within ), they should offer some help...
LISP and Dynamic Blocks
Accessing Dyn Block Current Visibility State
Dynamic Blocks with Lisp
Access (read and modify) Dynamic Blocks parameters values from within LISP
Controlling Dynamic Blocks via code
Programming - Dynamic Block Visibility
Have a good one, Mike

It is a shame that there's no "easy" button like on TV ....ok, let me clarify....
for commands and simple macros, i still am known as 'Chris, toolbar man Taylor'... ;)
(ok, my last name isn't really Taylor...)
when it comes to quick and easy deployment of blocks, hatching, and linework that needs specific properties, it's the Tool Palette all the way for me...

j/k.... i'm lazy and still have a ton of useless toolbars shown along w/ the ones i've created, but i have a 20" lcd, so i'm not really losing much realestate.
