How can I use CSI Standard Keynotes, with additional USER notes.
For Eg. Keynote # 1 says "5/8" Gypsum Board" Now I wanna add "Contractor to strip...blah blah blah" in addition to that Keynote. How can I achieve this?
Thanks

You should be able to tag objects twice; once with the CSI information (by element or material) and once with user information. I believe you can only have one keynote file associated with project so you'll have to copy and paste your custom notes to the CSI txt file so you can select them from within the project

Unless you use dumb text, you'd have to add a section to the keynotes .txt file. Then you use Keynote User put keynote on any object, select the keynote from the list and pop it in. The whole thing works much better if the full keynote numbers are on the sheet, not 1,2,3, etc.
PS: R9, any way to stop the keynote schedule from changing size http://forums.augi.com/images/icons/icon9.gif when the schedule changes??? I tried to pin schedule on sheet but does not work. I often have to check each sheet before printing to make sure schedule hasn't shifted margins.

You should also be able to add another parameter to your keynote tag. An instance parameter that would allow you to add a second string of text. Though I not sure this could be made to look correct graphically in the document set.

Unfortunately the keynote tag doesn't allow for the inclusion of user defined labels...

Is that true with sheet drawing title? I want to add user defined text by instance to sheet titles.

Revit Titleblocks? No. They do support user defined labels through shared parameters...

I think for added info when keynoting, I have toyed around with this method: I use the standard keynoting tag in R9.1 to do all my keynoting for objects and generally keep the note pretty generic, like stucco, 1/2" gyp. bd. etc. Then if I want to apply a note for finish, supplier, etc., I have been using the old keynoting function prior 9.1. I created diff. families for diff. things, like finish keynote. You can just continue to add to a text file for all the diff. types of finishes, place the text file in the same directory and use a completely diff. keynote tag to accomplish things like finish. I create a diff. shape tag of course and try to do this in one view such as elevations etc. I find this method a p.i.t.a., but since Revit doesn't support a instance based parameter in addition to the keynote tag, I don't see another option besides accomplishing this by use of dumb text or trying to take care of most of it through a schedule per the category you are looking at. I would ultimately like to see a keynote tag that allows you to place the keynote parameter in there for the item, the also throw the material one in there too, or an instance parameter so that we could accomplish exactly what we are talking about without all the hoopla!! hope this helps and maybe this isn't such a good method, but it's something I've been experimenting with since we have a lack of options in this area.

Yes, SHARED PARAMETERS!
Just resolved that this at 12:15 this morning.
Thank you,
David
