Is there a way to change text case in Revit or with another software utility that works within Revit? I have imported DWG details where the text is all capitals and I want lower case instead.

Not that I know of. You can copy paste into word, then change it there and copy paste back. But its quicker to just retype unless its a paragraph.

i dont know about acad, but adt has a upper/lower case tool in the mtext editor, so you dont have to export/import.

Clipboard Help+Spell has a change case feature. You copy the text to clipboard, change the case in that app and paste it back in Revit.

There is no way that I am aware of other than to re-type the notes!

I think you can with the API. I know that someone had written a replace text tool. So if you can find and replace text - you should be able to change case.
Before the API, I had designed a font that was all upper case....
