I found out recently that when someone creates a block or an attrubite that instead of exploding it which can cause you to lose all your intellegence in the attr. that you can "burst " it instead and you wont lose the intellegence in it. Ive run across a couple of dwgs where someone created a attribute within another attribute (unsure how they did that, but it was frustrating to modify) and we bursted it and were able to modify the table or text. I know i hate using explode only when burst doesnt work.

After you "burst" a block, does the attributes within that block become dtext, or am I doing something wrong. Nice tip, by the way.

Yep! that is how the Express Tools Burst command works.

For additional information on the Burst command refer to the Online ExpressTools Help File.

Have a good one, Mike
