Window surround problems

Posted this question some time ago but didn't get working solution.

On the right is the window surround cutting wall skin as wanted. On the left is the same surround within window family not cutting it.

Help appreciated.

In window family you can use Opening OR Void, but not both. So in your case may be you should try with Void.

If the surround is a nested family in the window family it will not cut the wall in the project file.
Nested voids / openings do cut in the parent family but not in the project file.
Make the voids in the parent family

I assume the "surround" is nested in the window family and that the "surround" family has a void / opening to cut the wall.
