Convert model lines to symbolic lines

I am importing ACAD linework from manufacturer's libraries for creation of custom content. However, this imported linework is always visible in all views--behaving like model lines. How can I make them symbolic so their visiblity is more limited?

Are you importing it "Current View Only?"
