Dimensions shift in elevation of linked building

Some of our staff seem to be experiencing the unusual occurrence of shifty dimensions. We have a campus of several buildings linked into one "host" file. Since we can't have linked elevations, we end up generating most of the interior elevations in the "host" file. However, when the casework is dimensioned in these elevations, the dimensions will inevitably shift once the file is saved to central. At times, the dimensions even disappear.

We have generated one solution - generating "dummy" lines and dimensioning those instead. However, that loses the "instant revision" inherent to Revit.

Anyone have any better thoughts?
