Is there a way in ACAD 2007 to compress your dwg files?

The drawing i made is 6 MB, existing of 3D solids only and part of a library i'm putting togehter. So this file (a fence/guardrail with spanded metal) is too large for multiple use in 1 single drawing.

I noticed that the framework of the fence is 300k, so the problem is the spanded metal. I made it out of a extruded rectangle, and afterwards i subtracted a pattern of panes.

Can it be compressed and still be used normally in ACAD2007?

TIA
Joris

Hi

See if the following helps...

ID: TS1062770 - Reducing the size of 3D DWG files (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=8221255&linkID=2475323)

Have a good one, Mike

If it is acceptable and possible to use a material definition to represent the expanded metal instead of geometry (if you are producing renderings), that will reduce the file size.
