My guess is that you have your view scale set differently. The text dynamically scales with the view scale, so if you have 1"=100' your text will be huge and if your scale is set to 3" = 1' your text will be tiny. (Given that you're actually looking at the same area on your screen each time). If your section tags and any other annotations are equally tiny then you know this is the problem.
On a similar vane, sometimes my temp dimensions are off the screen because I am zoomed in close to an object. This makes it particularly difficult to model certain objects with finer details. It is supposed to dynamically move to always be visible I though. Anyone else notice this as well?

Temporary dimensions arenot realted to view scale. There's no way to modify those.

Did you update your video drivers ? What kind of video card do you have ?

After reading this, I got a little curious because I had seen some scaling of temporary dimensions occur and assumed it was related to view scale. I did a little testing and it actually happened that the text remained a constant size unless I zoomed in and out. When I did, the text shrunk or blew up. It started at a standard size at whatever zoom I was at when I activated the temp. dimensions. So, I updated my video drivers and Viola! they now stay a constant size no matter what I do. Very strange behavior...Very strange indeed...
