When trying to access the PSM, I get a message that says "Windows cannot find Program.exe. This program is needed for opening files of type 'AutoCAD Color-dependent Plot Style Table File." "Type in the executable file to be used instead."

Can anybody shed light on this problem, or suggest an .exe file substitute?

Thanks in advance

Either...

Drag/Drop your .CTB (or STB) file onto STYEXE.EXE (found in the root of the Autodesk application directory)

-or-

Enter this string at the Windows command prompt (DOS box)
"c:\program files\autodesk land desktop 2006\styexe" cca.ctb

(or course, replace the path and name of the CTB or STB as needed)

Hi

Additionally you may wish to check that STYEXE.EXE is correctly associated with CTB and STB file types in Windows...

Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types tab...

Have a good one, Mike

New glitch, potentially serious. I got the .ctb files associated with STYEXE.exe, and it works.

But... now all of my applications (Microsoft applications, AutoCAD, ArcView, Photoshop, even Add or Remove Programs!) throw out a dialog box that states:

"Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to open this file. Would you like to install Reader now?"

I can't even access my company e-mail, which is crucial when you work for government.

Ideas?

http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

my 2 cents:
reboot the machine in safemode, scan the machine for viruses, makesure that adobe reader didn't somehow become the default application for those file types (*.msg, *.doc, etc), reboot as normal and see if that worked.

seeing as how i'm replting 2 hours after you ask for a quick answer i hope i'm not too late.

<SNIP>Hi

When is that message displayed ?

Have you spoken to your IT department about it ?

Have you tried (re-)installing Adobe Acrobat Reader ?

Have a good one, Mike
